The good folks at Dutil have opened a new concept store called TIMES in Vancouver’s historical Gastown district. TIMES is a “Profile Shop” which will feature the lifestyle and products of a new brand every few months. Naked & Famous Denim is proud to be the first brand featured at this fun new boutique!

Here is a pair of SkinnyGuy in Broken Twill Selvedge, worn by Brandon everyday for 1 year straight without wash. Then, after 1 full year of wear, we washed the jeans, inside-out, in cold water and hung to dry. Enjoy the pics!…

Well these jeans are NOT actually bulletproof, so please do not try to shoot yourself in the leg. But, this denim does contain 20% Kevlar® which is 5 times stronger than steel per weight! Now that is a strong pair of jeans.

24oz Selvedge Special Edition

This jean is a technical masterpiece. The fabric is almost impossible to weave. The looms shake and chatter and have to be closely monitored and adjusted as production runs. The filler yarns load up the shuttle to be so heavy that each pass of the weft is an amazing challenge.

After the fabric is done, we sent it to an amazing niche sewing factory in San Francisco, where they are crazy enough to agree to sew up these jeans for us. The sewing was a great challenge as well… The weight and rigidity of the denim is unprecedented and threw off the calibration of every machine. The in-house mechanic had to sit by each operation to fix or adjust each machine after every 2 or 3 pairs! Some of the sewing staff was actually brought to tears due to the tough and non-pliable fabric. (everyone is ok now )

Finally, we found the thickest leather we could get out hands on for the leather patch. But normal sewing machines could not sew it on the jeans! So, we found a friend in San Fran who manufactures leather golf bags, we borrowed his machines and sewed that patch right on! Enjoy!
